Musician Liv and her pregnant girlfriend Kate are house hunting, Liv’s found an old house by the sea that needs renovating but it has potential and the couple agree to buy it. They move in and Liv juggles her album with repairing the house but Kate’s younger sister Jenny turns up and distracts Liv. An attraction between Liv and Jenny ignites and Liv’s relationship with Kate becomes strained. Baby Lola arrives and the new pressures of motherhood pull the couple apart. When Jenny re-appears seeking friendship and solace after having an abortion, Liv and Jenny give in to their desires and begin an affair. But Kate finds out and blames them both for their betrayal, she leaves and takes baby Lola with her. Liv is left behind to make her own decision about the future and torn between what will be best for all of them, she lets them go.
