“Beautifully written by Harper…a probing real-life drama that challenges our sensibilities but leaves us feeling warm inside”. (LondonTheatre1 on CAN YOU HEAR ME RUNNING?)

“segued together with skill and imagination…a moving and frequently hilarious experience…an invigorating take on conventional notions of theatre.” (London Metro on SEX 1:DEATH 2/Non-Fiction Theatre)

2C2A1418-copy Hello/ I’m a playwright and screenwriter, I’ve worked in theatre, film and TV and I’ve also workshopped and created plays using the headphone verbatim technique. My commissions include a play (monologue) for an actress inspired by her true story, Can You Hear Me Running? (Pleasance Theatre), a short play Sixty by Sixty Live (Stephen Joseph Theatre), a short VR film Utopia6 (Breaking Fourth) and a play for young people Whalesong (PGS). I have an MA in playwriting (distinction). I’m interested in compelling and surprising stories and especially developing scripts for female protagonists. I enjoy connecting with new creatives and working collaboratively. Please use the contact form to get in touch or find me on twitter @jjoharper. Thanks for visiting.
